The Murray Method Russian Program
for Clergy Members

Clergy of all confessions are welcome. As of 2006, clergy from the following confessions throughout the former USSR have attended the training sessions:

Requirements For Attendance:
Each participant should:
- Be at least twenty-two years of age;
- Be sober from alcohol and drugs and in recovery, with no relapses, for
a minimum of two years; - Have knowledge and experience for a minimum of two years in field of religious work
or counseling, and preferably also in addictions and recovery; - Preferably have some knowledge of 12-Step work and experience in this area;
- Have a commitment to personal and professional growth;
- Have a willingness to be open, honest and to address own issues;
- Be responsive to both cognitive and experiential work;
- Have intention to use this training personally and professionally;
- Participate in small groups;
- Be willing to commit time for both class work and home tasks;
- Honor punctuality;
- Attend all classes and groups;
- Complete all home tasks, as assigned, prior to beginning of class.
Certificate:
Certificates for each Level will be provided by the Murray Method and the
co-sponsoring agency.
Certificates will not be given if a participant:
- Is late more than one time,
Misses any class or group time,
Does not do all homework as assigned, or
Does not have homework finished before class time.
Classes:
- Level One: One week — Monday through Friday
Basic theoretical concepts and treatment modalities presented through didactic
and experiential training; - Level Two: Two weeks — Monday through Friday
Advanced training of theory with special application for clients — individuals,
couples, families; - Level Three: One week — Monday through Friday
Additional advanced theory with special application for clients — individuals,
couples, families. - Level Four: Two weeks — Monday through Friday
Advanced theory with special application for clients — individuals,
couples, families (by invitation only)
Because the majority of the participants of these training sessions have not had the
previous opportunity to work on their own issues and to have their own wounds cleansed
and healed — we have found that most training participants prefer to repeat the above levels
numerous times. It can be overwhelming to attempt to comprehend all the
information — both personally and professionally — during one class. We encourage you
to consider attending the trainings several times (especially if you wish to apply for Level I
Instructor Training) and can assure you that you will continue to gain new information
each time.
